Gallagher Statement on President Trump Signing the Great American Outdoors Act Into Law
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Mike Gallagher today released the following statement after President Trump signed H.R. 7575, the Great American Outdoors Act, into law. The bill fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) — something that has happened only once since 1965 — and addresses the maintenance backlog facing the nation’s national parks and public lands.
"The Great American Outdoors Act makes a historic investment in our country’s natural beauty and will help us protect our state and community parks for years to come,” said Rep. Gallagher. "This is the most significant conservation package in a generation and a huge win for Northeast Wisconsin. I’m thrilled the President has now signed this into law, and I look forward to continue working with my colleagues on more bipartisan ways to protect our environment.”
Since the LWCF was created, the state of Wisconsin has received nearly $225.8 million in LWCF funding, including more than $12 million in Northeast Wisconsin.
