Gallagher Wins "Fastest Man in Congress" for Fourth Consecutive Time

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today participated in the ACLI Capital Challenge, a 5k race for members of Congress, Executive Branch officials, journalists, Congressional staffers, and others. Gallagher won his division with a time of 18:28 to maintain his title of "Fastest Man in Congress," which he has now won four consecutive times.

"Being the fastest man in Congress is a bit like being the best player on the Bears, but it's an honor nonetheless," said Rep. Gallagher."I stole this title from Senator Cotton back in 2017 and now he refuses to show up. I thought Conor Lamb would be competitive, but he was slow. Jared Golden was reportedly there but I didn't see him; possibly he was walking toward the back not sure."

The race was held in support of Junior Achievement USA, an organization that works to enhance financial literacy and help young people have the personal finance knowledge they need to succeed in our economy.

Gallagher spoke with Macey Monfils, a Junior Achievement student from Shawano High School, about financial literacy earlier this year. You can watch that video HERE.

"At the end of the day, there are few skills more important to our kids' success than financial literacy,"Gallagher continued."I'm proud to see that so many people both behind me in the race and together in support of advancing this mission."

Rep. Gallagher's first time competing in the ACLI Capital Challenge was in 2017, when he defeated defending champion Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR). Gallagher has not lost since.
