Gallagher Tours Woldt Farms, Drumlin Dairy on Save the Bay Field Day
BRILLION, WI – Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) yesterday joined conservation and industry leaders on tours of Woldt Farms and Drumlin Dairy as part of his fifth annual Save the Bay Field Day. During the tours, the group discussed farm waste management and other issues at the cross section of agriculture and conservation in Northeast Wisconsin.

Gallagher."Today's presentations by Woldt Farms and Drumlin Dairy gave participants important information on farm waste management and demonstrated how others in Northeast Wisconsin can implement these innovative techniques. I'm grateful they took the time to host these discussions and showcase how our community is at the cutting edge of economic and environmentally-friendly farming practices."
The tours were attended by approximately 50 local stakeholders and featured remarks from Rep. Gallagher, representatives from Drumlin Dairy and Woldt Farms, and a USDA official.

Background:
Save the Bay is a Northeast Wisconsin collaborative initiative, hosted by Congressman Gallagher, in which agriculture, academia, industry, government, and nonprofit leaders identify, share, and promote conservation practices to reduce phosphorus, nitrogen, and sediment flowing into the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. The initiative was started by Congressman Gallagher's predecessor, Reid Ribble.
A family farm since 1911, Woldt Farms milks 1,450 cows, raises 1,000 heifers, and crops 4,000 acres. They have been incorporating soil health practices on their farm for years and have lessons and successes to share.
Drumlin Dairy began milking Saanen and Nubian goats in 2017, and now milks 8,000 goats in a 120-stall twice daily. The dairy is Grade A and Drumlin sells its milk for cheese production.
