Gallagher Tours Vaccination Clinic in Marinette

March 5, 2021
MARINETTE, WI –Rep. Mike Gallagher (WI-08) today toured the Prevea Community COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus Fieldhouse, and met with local health officials to discuss their vaccine distribution effort. The facility opened on February 22nd in partnership with the Marinette County Public Health Department, and seeks to provide greater access to the vaccine in rural communities.
"Rural hospitals face unique challenges in both storing and distributing vaccines,"said Rep. Gallagher. "This partnership between Prevea and the Marinette County Public Health Department seamlessly navigates these issues and is a shining example of how healthcare systems in Northeast Wisconsin have stepped up to efficiently distribute the vaccine to as many Wisconsinites as possible."
Last December, Rep. Gallagher joined Rep. Ron Kind (WI-03) in calling on Operation Warp Speed leadership to help address vaccine distribution challenges in rural Wisconsin and take steps to support timely and equitable vaccine access for rural communities.
