Gallagher Statement on Proxy Voting Extension

May 17, 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today released the following statement after Speaker Pelosi extended proxy voting through July 3.
"Last week, the CDC took long overdue action to update its guidance on masking. Today, Washington, D.C. dramatically eased COVID-19 restrictions. But instead of following suit, Speaker Pelosi just decided to extend proxy voting through July 3 and continue to declare Congress non-essential. This doesn't make any sense. The House can and should get back to working in person, and that starts with ending proxy voting."
