Congressman Gallagher Votes in Support of Strengthening U.S. Cybersecurity

Washington, D.C. – Tonight, Congressman Mike Gallagher (WI-08) voted in favor of legislation to strengthen our cybersecurity defenses and foster our strategic alliance with Israel. Both bills passed in the House with bipartisan support.

 

“Tonight, Congress made important progress toward strengthening our cyber defenses and capabilities so that we can more effectively combat the emerging threats to our national security. These measures are critical to protecting our national interests, the safety of our citizens, and our strategic partnerships in the 21st century,” Rep. Gallagher stated. “Now more than ever we must foster our relationship with Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, to combat the shared cyber-threats facing our nations. Tonight’s votes start the United States on a more secure path to defending itself from evolving threats at home and abroad,” Rep. Gallagher concluded.

 

Congressman Gallagher currently serves on the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee on Homeland Security, and is also a member of the Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus.
