6 Photos from Vice President Pence's Visit

November 25, 2019

This week, Rep. Gallagher welcomed Vice President Pence and U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia to Marinette to meet with Northeast Wisconsinites and tour Marinette Marine. See what their busy day entailed in the photos below.

At approximately 10:00am, Air Force 2 landed at Austin Straubel International Airport. The Vice President and Rep. Gallagher stopped to greet, a number of Northeast Wisconsinites on the tarmac before heading to Marinette.

On the way to Marinette Marine, Vice President Pence stopped the motorcade to greet students at Garfield Elementary. It was a memorable experience for all the students, who joined Rep. Gallagher in thanking the Vice President for the spontaneous stop.

Before the tour, Rep. Gallagher addressed employees at Marinette Marine and introduced the Vice President. As he said, "This town and this shipyard represent the best of Wisconsin values," which is something that Vice President Pence surely knows as a fellow Midwesterner. Watch the video above to see his full remarks.

The Vice President then laid out a compelling agenda for ways we can continue to create exciting opportunities for workers, particularly by passing USMCA. He also had some nice words for Rep. Gallagher, who is committed to helping get common sense initiatives like the USMCA across the finish line (click the picture above to see what he said).

On their visit, they also toured the U.S.S. Cooperstown, a Freedom variant of the Littoral Combat Ship, which gave Vice President Pence and Secretary Scalia the chance to see the Wisconsin work ethic firsthand.

And before they left Wisconsin after a busy day in Marinette, they stopped at Mickey-Lu-Bar-B-Q for dinner (cheeseburgers, of course). No better way to end a day
